Deep inside the configuration system one person may have just discovered the biggest Tesla easter egg of all, a self-destruct button which causes the car to explode!
Only a few lucky drivers have been able to get their hands on the new Tesla Cybertruck, and one of them was computer enthusiast Joey Fresno. After having his all electric truck for only one month, he became disappointed in the video games on the internal screen and began messing around. After a couple of hours he discovered a hidden “Admin” mode menu.
From within the hidden administrator window Mr. Fresno unlocked a wealth of new abilities. He could raise the car suspension up and down, and control the vehicle remotely with his cell phone. One function which has warnings all over it was the “Self Destruct.”
As most people know, CyberTrucks have a 5,900 pound battery which is even more explosive than TNT. The slightest bump in the road or a hot day are enough to set it off. Now, if somebody steals your car, you can quickly press the self destruct button which starts a 5 minute unstoppable countdown timer. At the end of the timer, the car battery heats up by 25 degrees, which causes a chain reaction leading to an explosion. That will teach those car thieves!
After Mr. Fresno posted pictures of the self-destruct mode on Twitter, Musk responded that the feature was included by accident and would be removed by an over-the-air update.
