It’s being called a human health crisis: vaccine addiction is sweeping over Detroit. Walking street to street, there are used needles everywhere. I watch as a man picks up a clearly used vaccine syringe – the tip is covered in rust – and he rams it into his vein, injecting whatever leftover substance was inside.

The mayor is calling on police to imprison the addicts indefinitely, but families of the victims insist they should be given other options, such as rehab.

As it stands now, Detroit is feeling less safe than ever, and until we get these vaccines off the streets, it’s not going to improve.
